






Two cases of COVID-19 and sickle cell disease have been reported to the registry as of 3/25/2020. The average age of the patients was 36.5 years. Both cases were classified as severe COVID cases [early respiratory symptoms or gastrointestinal symptoms followed by dyspnea and hypoxia (O2 saturations less than 92%)] and required hospitalization for an average LOS of 11 days. Both cases received simple RBC transfusion. No ventilator required. Both are recovered.
